Pleasure Point local and big wave surfing legend Frosty Hesson celebrates his life in the water with his newly released memoir, Making Mavericks. On the heels of the theatrical release of “Chasing Mavericks”, the Hollywood version of Frosty’s extraordinary friendship with Jay Moriarty, he shares the principles that have become the core tenants of his teaching philosophy, encouraging us all to “live like Jay”. Making Mavericks is a celebration of Frosty’s determination to live with joy and purpose, as well as his desire to help others to do the same. Frosty has been surfing the northern California coastline since 1963 and was among the elite group of surfers who first began riding the colossal waves at Mavericks in the 1980’s.
